Daryll Stevens, a senior at Long Beach Jordan High in California, led all qualifiers in the boys 300-meter hurdles prelims by clocking 37.75 seconds at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Stevens was one of three competitors to achieve a sub-38 performance in advancing to the state final.
